Will and Sonny leaving is gonna be a hard pill to swallow though, they are a super couple too!! I also really miss Leo, he reminded me of how quirky and funny Days used to be…Eugene and Calliope were fantastic, remember them anyone? They need to reunite Roman and Kate, they were such a fun couple too!!! I’m tired of the regular format of a soap opera, baby drama, people implanted with chips, people returning from the dead, etc. Which really sucks, because as viewers we have invested time and years into other Salem residents, new and old. Jack, Steve, Nicole) or for return visits from Sami (whom I love and am glad she agrees to come back now and then to give the show a B12 shot) other actors are often sacrificed in order to try to recapture their late 80’s early 90’s magic. I will ‘go out on a limb’ and say many readers and/or “Days” devotees would love to hear how getting eight months ahead was accomplished AND what other reasons, other than the potential writers’ strike, were there, to initiate the change in the long-standing production calendar of a month-or-so’s lead time? That’s a long time to let an audience get siphoned off with apathy and displeasure. I understand the benefit of beating out a potential writers’ strike by having months of shows “banked.” But if the faithful audience turns a cold shoulder to the currently airing storyline(s) the producers are more than half a year from responding to viewers’ feedback. With its mix of classic genre traditions and groundbreaking narratives reflecting modern life, “Days of our Lives” remains a perennial favorite among viewers of all ages.The other consideration is that gauging the audience’s reaction to storylines, regulars, characters, and new regulars/characters can be “tinkered with” if they’re shooting three to four weeks in advance - as the soaps did for decades.
